Okay, this is in response to your comment on my blog. You should NEVER feel like a horrible mother just because Ruby isn't in a "routine." It took me FOREVER to establish a routine for Andrew, and even now we don't always stick to it. In the long run, I don't think it even matters. All that matters is that we raise healthy, happy children, and you are. You are a wonderful mother.
You will be fine with your transition back to work, but I'm not going to lie to you -- it will be hard. Oh, it was so hard for me. It still is. I'm trying to work with my employer to figure out a new schedule so I can be home with my boy more. Will your employer let you work from home, or do you have any flexible scheduling options available? Please e-mail me if you want to talk -- I know exactly how you feel!
Oh, and one more thing, about the routine: I didn't establish a daytime routine for Andrew at all, I should have been clearer about that. I did for nighttime, but during the day he just ended up falling into a routine on his own around 3 months. Maybe Ruby will do the same thing! I seriously wouldn't worry about it! :o)
I used to hate the idea of being what one would call a "domestic goddess" - cooking, cleaning, sewing, yadda yadda. However, as I grow older I've really learned to enjoy these things .. and yes, I even enjoy cleaning on some days, as long as it doesn't include dishes or laundry. Life sure is strange as a grown-up!

Oh, look at her! How cute is she?? Are those little leg-warmers that she's wearing? How adorable!
I've missed your updates! Happy for the new recipes, though. :o) I hope all three of you are doing well!
